Morning, flight to Hargeisa. Up on arrival, meet our guide and transfer to your hotel. After check-in, debut exploring the city and seeing some of its sights, including the War Memorial with its unusual monument of a crashed MiG fighter plane as well as the markets – including the gold and camel markets. Visit the Massala view, the best viewpoint over the whole of Hargeisa, from which the two hills known as Naaso Hablood (Girl’s breast) can be seen. Overnight in hotel

Day 2 - Excurssion to Dhagah Khoure and Borama

On this day, drive to Borama, passing through the towns of Gabiley and Arabsiyo. These towns are known for their agriculture and Somali traditional culture. On the way, visit the ancient rock painting site Dhagax Khoure. It contains animal and human figures spread over different panels in a striking landscape. Then, proceed to Borama. After lunch, explore the lesser visited town and its colourful market. After the visit drive back to Hargeisa. Overnight in hotel

Day 3 - Hargeisa - Laas Geel Complex - Berbera

After breakfast, depart to the ancient port town of Berbera. En route, visit Laas Geel, one of the earliest known cave paintings in the Horn of Africa. Laas Geel's is dated back between 9000 -3000 BC. The site is placed on a granite outcrop that rises from a plateau at an altitude of 950 meters above sea level, at the confluence of two seasonal rivers, a key fact to explain the existence of rock art in the outcrop. Even today, the name of the site (“the camel’s well” in Somali) makes reference to the availability of water near the surface of the wadis. The paintings at Laas Geel are spread across 20 shelters split into three levels some of which can be as wide as 10 meters and as deep as 5 meters. The paintings in Laas Geel depict scenes of the daily life of the nomads who inhabited the area and their animals as well as ceremonial scenes. Some of the paintings are monochrome and others polichrome but they are all remarkably well-preserved and vivid for something which is thousands of years old. The colours used are warm, either red, yellow or orange. After the visit, proceed to the coastal town of Berbera. Overnight in hotel

Day 4 - Berbera

On this day, discover the ancient city of Berbera with its interesting architecture from both the Ottoman and British periods. Berbera serves as the biggest seaport for Somaliland, with clean and unspoiled beaches on the Gulf of Aden. Explore the old quarter of the town. Berbera was the most important place of trade in the entire Horn of Africa and part of a chain of commercial port cities along the Somali seaboard. Overnight in hotel

Day 5 - Berbera – Hargeisa – Addis Ababa ET375 1740-1900

After breakfast drive back to Hargeisa. On the way, visit one of the interesting cultural villages of the Somalis. You will have a farewell lunch in Hargeisa. In the afternoon, you will have leisure/shopping time. In the evening, according to your flight schedule, transfer to the airport and flight back to Addis Ababa.
