8 Days Nature & Wildlife Tour to Ethiopian Great Rift Valley& Bale Mountains National Park

In the early morning, meet up at convenient point in Addis Ababa and depart to Wanchi Crater Lake via the town of Ambo town (144 km asphalt road), situated in the western side of the capital. Up on arrival at Wanchi, begin your hiking or horseback riding on the hillside of the crater through the natural forest with a beautiful scenery. Inside the forest, you will observe different tree species, alpine vegetation, aquatic and terrestrial bird species, and mammals. Then, descend down to the natural hot-spring. Soak in the natural mud-pool and take bath in hot-spring for a relaxation and rejuvenation. Picnic lunch (goat steak bites, rice with cooked vegetable, and fruits) will be served at the green fields near to the hot-spring. Afternoon, continue hiking or horseback riding to the villages through the beautiful grassland water streams. You will have a short break to visit one of the households in on of the villages to observe their daily lifestyle. Continue hiking to the shore of the lake and take in views of the lake shore from a peaceful dock. Then, our boat will pick you up to cross the lake. On the way, if time allows, stop over at the island of the lake and visit the monastery of Cherkos. Then meet our vehicle and drive back to Addis Ababa.

In the morning, flight to Goba. Up on arrival, drive to Bale Mountains National Park. Stop at Dinsho, the head quarter of Bale Mountains National Park. Hiking around the headquarter, to see some wild animals: Minilik Bushbuck, Mountain Nyala, Warthog, etc. Lunch break at Goba town. Then proceed to Senette Plateau and hike around the platueau. Then drive halfway and short trek to the second highest peak in Ethiopia, Tullu Dimtu (4377m, 14357ft), which is part of the Sanetti Plateau. The vistas are simply unbelievable and so photogenic. Here you will find small alpine lakes and typical afro-alpine vegetation that includes the Giant Lobelia and shrubs such as 'Everlasting'. Vistas reach out to the strange pinnacles of Chorchora Peak and across the sheer-sided Tegona River Gorge. Senette Platuea is a home to the endemic Ethiopian Wolves and Giant Mole Rats. Then proceed to Rira. Overnight in Bale Mountains Lodge.

After breakfast, hiking through bamboo and waterfall trail inside Harena Forest, one of the few remaining natural forests in the country, known for its mammals, amphibians and birds, including many endemic species. The Harenna Forest was once habitat to packs of the endangered Painted Hunting Dog and Lycaonpictus. Overnight in Bale Mountains Lodge.

After breakfast, drive to Sof Omar Cave, the fast-flowing Web River runs through a deep gorge and then cuts straight through a limestone hill. Though underground for only 1.5km, the aeon of erosion have carved 15km of passages, proposed for World Heritage listing, venerated by area Muslims due to Sheikh Sof Omar Ahmed reputedly taking refuge here in the 11th century. After visit, drive to Langano. Overnight in Resort.

After breakfast, drive to Lepis Eco Village, has been awarded as best tourism village of UNWTO for 2023. Explore and hike through the lush forest with breathtaking view of the magnificent waterfall, and experience the horseback riding in the village. After visit, drve back to Langano. Overnight in Resort.

After breakfast, game drive and hiking inside Abyata - Shala National Park, famous with its hot springs, wildlife & and bird species. In the afternoon drive to Bishoftu. On the way, short break at Ziway and visit the Vineyard of Castel Winery, the first privately owned winery in the country. Explore the vineyard, wine making process, and attend wine testing. Then proceed to Langano. Check in at the resort. Lunch break. In the afternoon,  Overnight in Resort.

In the morning, you will have leisure time, wellness and spa. Then, drive back to Addis Ababa. Lunch break. In the late afternoon, you will have a shopping / free leisure time. In the evening farewell traditional dinner in one of the best restaurants in Addis followed by folkloric dance of different Ethiopian nations. Then transfer to your destination. End of the trip.
